Mitchell Demolition Director, John Mitchell is a long-time champion of MBI Shears and Inmalo’s support. His company’s latest dismantling project spurred him to invest in a new MBI Eagle 3 SH250R scrap shear replacing an older unit.
The Scrap Shear Project
The project to dismantle a large steel ship in the dock at Lowestoft demanded a powerful & fast shear to get the job done quickly and efficiently.
Mounted on a Hitachi ZX250, the SH250R Shear is well balanced for breaking down the 60 tons of steel plate, bulkheads and hull structure.
Working from the slipway and quayside, the combination is proving effective with work estimated to be in the region of 1 week to dismantle and remove all material from the dockside.
Reviews for Inmalo
“These shears are so robust and reliable; we wouldn’t use anything else. After 8 years of service it was time to replace our older SH180 shear.
The ROI just makes sense to upgrade now and have the increased power / performance, The new shear will be going out to another job as soon as we’re finished in Lowestoft.
“We can’t afford to have unreliable kit, it damages your reputation and causes more problems and costs down the road if you try to cut corners. Reliability and performance are key for us and Charlie and the team at Inmalo always look after us well.” said John.
Established in 1965 and based in Norwich, Mitchell Demolition Ltd is a family owned and operated company taking pride in its reputation for the highest standards in general demolition services and demolition equipment hire.
The older SH180 isn’t finished yet, it will be refurbished at Inmalo’s workshop to continue working for many more years!
